Nikki-Anne Archer  was born in a small Welsh village to a Geordie family who relocated to Wales to work in Open Cast Mines. After leaving art college she went to work for the RAF as a civilian. She loved her time with them and worked everywhere from the The Royal Design Squadron to the Tornado Squadron where she spent the majority of her years working as an administration officer. After 12 years she decided it was time for a change and came to work for the University of Exeter where she has now been for over 10 years.

Q. What does a “day in the life of” look like for you?

A. I am usually woken early by my 2 year old son and proceed to calm the chaos that a young family brings. After dropping my children to school and childcare I walk to work and take time to breath and plan the day ahead. My role can be vary varied and although I am PA to Professor Morgan in the IBEx team I also get to interact with Doctors from many different disciplines. After work I collect my children and often go running to round off my day.

Q. What made you want to work in your current job?

A. I saw the advertisement for the Medial School and once I had read the profiles of the IBEx team was so inspired I knew it was where I wanted to be.

Q. When you’re not working, what do you like to do for fun?

A. As I have a young family my free time is spent doing activities with them and laughing a lot. I have also just taken up boxing and I think I may be hooked.
